Purpose of the Sandbox

To provide a safe and sound environment for unmanned vehicle(UV) innovative experimentation, encouraging the development and application of UV technologies.

Features of the Sandbox

ㆍAny type of UV, including self-driving cars, autonomous mobile robots, drones, self-driving ships, and unmanned underwater vehicles, is always welcome to conduct experiments

ㆍApplicants can conduct unmanned vehicles experimentations related to their technical, service, and/or operation models

ㆍUVs can conduct experiments in open fields and a diverse range of driving scenarios such as busy urban traffic with motorcycles and cars intermingling, complex intersections, dedicated fields with comprehensive vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) technology, and a variety of terrains within a short distance

ㆍDuring Experimentations, UVs are allowed to exempt from certain legal requirements under specific conditions and scopes.
