In response to the rise of unmanned vehicle technology, and to accelerate the industrialization of innovative technologies, promote the implementation of diverse applications and services of unmanned vehicles such as self-driving cars, self-driving ships and drones in Taiwan, and drive industrial development, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has formulated the "Unmanned Vehicles Technology Innovative Experimentation Act" and promoted the "Unmanned Vehicles Technology Innovative Experimentation Program." This program encourages domestic industries to invest in unmanned vehicle-related technological innovation and development, assists companies in loosening transportation regulations temporarily, and builds a sound and safe environment for innovative experimentation in Taiwan.
